Bishop of Pasig endorses "Padre de Pamilya"

MARCH 26 - Pasig bishop Francisco San Diego, D.D. followed the stream of bishops in the Metropolitan See of Manila in endorsing "Padre de Pamilya" as a mode for families to obtain a free bible for every household.

In a letter sent to all the priests in the diocese of Pasig, bishop Francisco likened having a bible to having a crucifix in every home. "Just like the crucifix, every Catholic home must have a bible in which the family life is centered and where they receive spiritual nourishment," announced the bishop.

For every ticket bought, a bible will be provided for every family in the program "Isang Biblia, Bawat Pamilya."

According the the letter endorsed by the Archbishop and the bishops of the Metropolitan See, "Padre de Pamilya" is an independent film about a Catholic family struggling to survive in a corrupt-laden society. It stars Ariel Rivera and Jacklyn Jose.

It will be shown in the SM Theaters from April 29 to May 5, 2009. Tickets will be sold at P130 each.

The Archbishop and bishops of the Metropolitan See of Manila are composed of Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales, Antipolo Bishop Gabriel Reyes, Cubao Bishop Hoonesto Ongtioco, Kalookan Bishop Deogracias Iniguez, Jr., Manila Auxiliary Bishop Bernardino Cortez, Manila Auxiliary Bishop Roderick Pabillo, Novaliches Bishop Antonio R.
