The Diocese of Pasig will be hosting the 5th
Regional Vocation Festival initiated by the Directors of Vocation in the
Philippines- National Capital Region (DVP- NCR) this coming 10th of
November, 2012.
It will be held at St. Paul College- Pasig, Brgy. Ugong,
Pasig City. This is a whole day event to be participated by the youth and young
professionals coming from the diocese of the Ecclesiastical Province of Manila.
According to Diocesan Vocations Director Fr. Jhun Sanchez, the activity aims to promote vocations to
priesthood and consecrated life in the whole metropolitan as well as to respond to the call of the Holy Father, Pope Benedict XVI, for Renewed
Evangelization and Integral Faith Formation particularly among the youth.
This
Year of Faith, the DVP-NCR Vocation Directors agreed that each diocese will be
sending 500 participants while the Diocese of Pasig, being the host diocese,
will be sending 1,000 young from our parishes and schools. "We
estimate around 4,000 participants from seven dioceses," said Fr. Jhun.
"In joint effort with our Diocesan Youth Ministry,
we are sending you this letter to
formally request from all parish priests at least forty (40) participants from your
Parish Youth Ministry (PYM) or from the 4th Year High School
students from your parochial school. There will be a Twenty-peso (Php.
20.00) registration fee and each participant is encouraged to bring their
pack lunch, though food concessionaires are also available on the day of
event," the circular letter stated. /DPOC 20121108
