The parish was erected last September 10, 1969 and it indeed has a very colorful and magnificent history.
Not like other parishes who celebrate their patron’s feast day annually, Sta. Rosa de Lima Parish celebrates theirs every other year. In celebration of this tradition, the last feast day was celebrated in Bagong Ilog on August 24, 2008. This glorious tradition was already agreed upon by both barangay Bagong Ilog and Sumilang several decades ago which was unanimously discussed by the elders of the barangays based on the history of the patron’s discovery.
