Godspeed, Fr. Buddy Yun


Fr. Salvador "Buddy" Yun (1963 - 2010), originally hailed from Tanay Rizal. He is survived by his mother Fermina Oliguer and 9 other siblings.

He finished seminary formation at the San Carlos Seminary and was ordained a priest on June 23, 1990.

He served the Diocesan Shrine of our Lady of Aranzazu (San Mateo Rizal) as parochial vicar. His first assignment as parish priest was St. John Maria Vianney Parish from 1994 - 2000. He was parish priest of Sto. Tomas de Villanueva Parish until the time of the separation of Pasig into a separate Diocese in 2002. From there he was transferred to Sto. Nino de Taguig, then to St. Anne Shrine in Sta. Ana, Tagig, his last assignment.

He was School director of Sto. Tomas de Villanueva High School, Sto. Nino Parochial School and Colegio de Sta. Ana. Hence, he was rightfully assigned Superintendent of the Diocese of Pasig since last year.

He was also co-anchor of the radio program "Hello Father 911" every Wednesday evening at Radyo Veritas, together with Frs. Mar Baranda and Lito Jopson.

He died of pulmonary and multiple organ failure.
