In a text message received from Judicial Vicar Fr. Pedro Enrique Rabonza III, His Excellency Archbishop Edward Joseph Adams officially communicated that on December 21, 2010, at 12:00 p.m. in Rome, the Holy Father Pope Benedict XVI accepted the resignation of Pasig Bishop Francisco San Diego. The Holy Father appointed Manila Archbishop Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales as Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Pasig. The appointment is concurrent with his being Archbishop of Manila.
Fr. Rabonza advised the priests celebrating mass in the Diocese of Pasig to pray for the apostolic administrator in this way: " ... Gaudencio, our apostolic administrator ..." starting today. (J. Jopson)
