Pasig in search of part-time Diocesan Catechists

PASIG - To address the scarcity of volunteer catechists teaching in public schools in the Diocese of Pasig, The Catechetical Ministry is calling on all parishes to actively recruit volunteers from the last week of May till June 26. Orientation starts on June 27, 2011, 8:30 a.m. at the Diocesan Formation Center.

Qualifications for Diocesan Part-time catechists include practicing Catholics, sacramentally alive and involved in community activities, males or females, 18 to 50 years old, at least second year college, possessing good moral standing in the community, expect no salaries or allowances, must pass the qualifications exam and are willing to undergo formation every week from 1 year.

They should submit a recommendation letter by of the Parish Priest, baptismal certificate, and marriage contract if married.

The Diocese only has a total of 71 volunteer catechists teaching in public schools, according to Fr. Daniel Estacio, Priest Director of the Ministry.
