Liturgical Ministry releases guidelines on All Saints and Souls Days

PASIG CITY - Diocesan liturgical minister Fr. Daniel Estacio reminds all clergy of the  Diocese of Pasig to observe the liturgical guidelines for the Solemnity of the All Saints and Commemoration of the faithful departed on Saturday, November 1 and Sunday, November 2, respectively.

In the circular sent by the Chancery, Fr Mar Baranda wrote: "All masses in the morning, afternoon and evening of November 1, Saturday will take the proper (readings and prayers) of the Solemnity of all Saints.

However, we decree that those who will participate in the Masses on the evening of the Solemnity of all Saints, Saturday, November 1 also satisfy their Sunday Obligation.

All masses on November 2, Sunday, will take the proper (readings and prayers) of the Commemoration of all the Faithful Departed (All Souls' Day) since the Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed takes precedence over Sundays in Ordinary Time. (Table of Liturgical Precedence: 1,3; II, 6)"

Fr. Daniel also shared a Facebook reminder to the all that "October 31, November 1 and 2 are Sacred days and NOT scared days."
