“How do you censor? How do you classify all the information that is available for our children?” Congresswoman Leni asked the audience. She believes the MTRCB is doing its job fully well. But she continued to ask if MTRCB has sufficient authority or does it have the right regulations to control the information that are very much accessible to our children.
Then she suggested that we should give emphasis to the value formation in the family and said, “Quality time comes after quantity time. Presence of the parents is what is lacking now and we need to be on the same wave length of our children. Assimilation of action is more important than assimilation of words.” And she ended with “Practice what you preach and spend as much time with your children.” Her challenge is to come up with thoroughly studied measures that will regulate social media in the internet which so many children have access to. She pointed out that parents have the biggest responsibility in value formation.
